Revolutionary Traceability and Marketing Tool for Seafood Products

Alistair Douglas has been working with Kolega Fisheries and FishTrax Systems in the traceability of MSC prawns from the Spencer Gulf, South Australia. 
In addition to providing tiles that link to a map the fisherman and boat profile, the system also allows the Grand Hyatt of Singapore who purchases the prawns to put on their logo and add tiles that link to chef profiles, recipes, and hotel promotions. 
Customers can simply scan a QR code with their phones or enter a trace code on the FishTrax website and see all this information on a simple interface without the need for downloading an application. 
They can also text the fisherman of FaceBook/Tweet images of the prawn meal they have just enjoyed. Behind the system is analytics that allow fishers or farmers to see who buys their seafood, when and where, as well as get feedback on their experience. Restaurants and hotels can also get their customers signed up to promotions.
